Meeting every Monday 10:00 am Sunset Home Concordia KS Marge Higgins 785 243 0932
We have enjoyed going out & going to Fried Chicken suppers once a month. We also enjoy seeing our fellow Vets at the monthly meetings. We had a busy November. First, we hosted the chamber coffee at Sunset Home and let them know we are here and it was a success. Then the day before Veterans Day 4 of the Sunset Vets went to the Concordia High School with the local vets to be honored on veterans’ day. Marge was also in the color guard. On Veterans Day we went to the Legion Post for a ceremony and Marge was in the color guard. Marge drove us through the Avenue of Flags. We had lunch furnished by SONIC and had good fellowship. It was good day enjoyed by all. In November we celebrated 2 Veterans Birthdays, one was 91 years old. Our group got new shirts to wear at our weekly meetings. They are black with “VETERANS” on the front and a eagle on the back. Our leader Marge has been participating with the honor guard at funerals and held the American flag at a tree planting ceremony for the lion’s club. Marge was also voted in a 2nd Vic Commander in charge of the Sunset vets which is great honor. We are looking forward to the holidays and getting out as much as we can. We welcome visitors anytime at Sunset. When you see a Veteran stop and thank them for their service. Have a good holiday season!
If your Monday mornings are free, please join us at Sunset Home in the basement 10-11 am.
